This out of site installation awards the cheapest and the most expensive gas prices of 65 gas stations in Denton, TX.
The cheapest gas award for September 20, 2005 in Denton, Texas as reported by gaspricewwatch.com goes to 'unknown station #1' which priced regular unleaded at $2.54. There were over 20 cars waiting in line to buy at this 'unknown' station when I documented the 1st place coal car award. This unusual line was based on patrons speculating prices to go above $3.00 per gallon due to hurricane Rita heading this way Saturday.
The most expensive gas award for the same day goes to 'unknown station #2' which gaspricewwatch.com priced their unleaded gas at $2.99. However, it was not $2.99. Regular unleaded was $2.65/gallon here, with no line.
I now believe, after completing this installation, that 'unknown gas station #2' should have been awarded with 1st place. Waiting in line for 20 minutes - while your car is running - in a congested, fumed and road raged environment is not worth 11 cents/gallon. |
