Finding something unexpected is my hopeful endeavor as an art maker and an art viewer. The idea of living in Denton and stumbling upon something odd, that just might be art, is sentimental in all the right ways. The whole project of this exhibition is like a chorus of disembodied voices mumbling to unknown people. My work for Out of Site is to be found and to disappear…or to be neglected and disappear. It is a fragment of a fragment of a fragment of a fragment. Its very substance is a process of erasure, or rather change. For me, my artwork is offered like a gift sent to a complete stranger.
