Boston Falling
Graphite on MDF
500x.org
This is a beautiful piece. The MDF surface itself is flawless and smooth like glass. Jessica drew the outline of Boston harbor and used it as a repeating element creating a perfect composition. Minimalism at it's best.

I bought this painting in Seattle Washington at the Bluebottle Art Gallery. It was part of a 30 painting series featuring this cool little bee.

Kelly Pierce
Urban Legend
Mixed media on paper
artagent.com
Kelly painted this for a Nike book we worked on back in 2001. It was a collaborative book of sorts merging poetry, design, illustrations, paintings, photography, and of course shoes + apparel. This painting was intended to accompany a poem called 'Urban Legend.' Instead it ended up in my personal collection because it's subject matter was a bit too dark for the poem (and Nike).

Muerte
Mixed Media
artagent.com
Muerte is a messy painting about death. It definitely references Dia de los Muertos. Although there are 3 heads engulfed in flames, there is a sense of celebration and hope. I'm referring to the aqua color coming through the fire of course. This is by far one of my favorite paintings. If this painting could talk, among other things, it would probably say, 'Hey Mark, please don't leave me in Dallas.'

Comfort Germs

The complete Comfort Germ family: Ebola, Escherichia Coli, Streptococcus and Tetnus. Outside of this being an unbelievable series of fine art, I have to tell you, this is also the most amazing set of pillows. They just make you smile and want to snuggle up with your germs.

Who would think that e coli would make for the absolute perfect neck pillow?

Strep was no fun to catch growing up. Not the best of memories. But alas, I now own strep! So no more tears.

Tetanus is my favorite germ in the Comfort Germ series. Beautiful simple shape, soft lavendar pink color, very comfortable.

Comfort Germ Ebola

Although it is a bastard of a fatal disease, Ebola is represented here in the Comfort Germ series as a friendly form. Almost even muppet like.

Justin Strickland
Untitled
Mixed Media
This piece was a total score. Justin Strickland did a series of four framed drawings for the out of site project, and this is one from the series.

Shannon Sullivan

Ceramics and resin
500x.org
This piece is so awesome that I can hardly stand it. Shannon Sullivan created these organic irregular shapes with clay, used beautiful glazes, and adhered the clay to a sheet of resin. The result is a brilliant 3-Dimensional piece that is flat on the side facing out.

Figure X
Silkscreen Print
This is a beautiful print probably created in the early 70's. It is a combination of solid graphic structural shapes and brilliant colors that is seemingly scifi, reminiscent of a launch pad in space. Maybe this piece is influenced by the original Star Trek franchise, or even it's future classic BattleStar Galactica? One can only hope.
